As such, this new Air-King model has been crafted with in-house watchmaking expertise, offering exceptional quality and unparalleled performance.
The 2022 Air-King ref. 126900 features a redesigned case with a winding crown guard and straight edges, like most models in the professional category, such as the replica Rolex Submariner and Rolex GMT-Master II. This watch has a sportier feel and redefined functionality compared to the previous Air-King collection.
In addition to this functional approach, the watch’s display has been updated for perfect balance, adding a “0” digit before the “5” on the minute scale. Two digits now mark each 5-minute interval to achieve a well-proportioned aesthetic.
The new generation Air-King also benefits from an optimized Chromalight display that guarantees maximum readability in dark conditions. A new luminous material covers the hands and the triangular hour-markers at 12 o’clock for a more permanent and intense light.
In addition, Rolex has revisited the proportions of the Oyster strap in this model. A symbol of the watchmaker’s engineering know-how, the Oyster strap was developed initially in the late 1930s. The three-piece link strap is the most versatile in the Oyster Perpetual collection and is renowned for its robustness – something that has now been enhanced thanks to Rolex’s expanded center link for the 2022 Air-King ref. 126900. A first for an Air-King model, this model is equipped with an Oyster safety clasp.
The Rolex-designed and patented Oysterlock folding safety clasp prevents accidental opening and further protects the watch itself. The bracelet is also equipped with the Easylink comfort extension, also developed by the brand, which allows the wearer to easily adjust the length of the bracelet by approximately 5 mm. A concealed linking system ensures seamless visual continuity between the bracelet and the case, adding to the sense of style.
With its 40 mm Oyster case, this imitation watch is an example of sturdiness and reliability. This case ensures that the watch is water resistant to a depth of 100 meters, or 330 feet. The middle case is made of sturdy Oyster steel, an alloy that is particularly resistant to corrosion. The edge of the case back is finely fluted, sealed, and screwed down using a special tool that allows only Rolex watchmakers to access the movement.
