Pluto doesn't just end things. To quote John Marcella, "He exorcises, detoxes, purges, obliterates and makes extinct the antiquated. And yes, He allows new forms to develop, evolve, emerge and unfold."

The roof caves in according the the things ruled by the sign when Pluto makes his entrance. Pluto has started his transit of Capricorn by whacking the banking establishment.

Banks over-extended their capital reserves with exotic paper using credit to expand their power and influence to a world wide market. As with all things Plutonian they overdid it and were forced to pull back or become extinct. The next few years will find their replacement as a new business model captures rapidly expanding technology. This is not the death of Capitalism, but a reorganization of the concept. The Spring Equinox and an Overview of the Three Months Ahead - Spring Equinox March 20, 2009 at 7:43 am EDT. The chart is set for Washington D.C. (chart image) May you live in interesting times is an ancient Chinese curse.  Interesting times are promised as we work our way to the Summer Solstice and the planets move out of a very tight stellium and spread across the zodiac.

We are about in the middle of a financial war that started on September 15, 2008, and it appears it will end after Jupiter enters Pisces. The USA is very competent at cleaning up after a war and those of you born in the sixties are born to do the heavy lifting. Stay healthy.

In The Textbook for Financial Astrology Book 1,  I challenge the student to think of things to do while Mercury is retrograde. I suggest doing things that start with the prefix "re".

Review is on the list. So let's read a book review while we work our way through these three weeks of "re".

Every few decades the planets, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto make hard aspects with each other which causes turmoil on American stock markets and a radical reshaping of society.

The latest episode of this repeating high drama began last year as Saturn made the first of a long-running series of five oppositions to Uranus.

This year, the drama goes into even higher gear with an enormous emphasis on the influence of Uranus’ home sign, Aquarius, which rules not only the stock markets, but things like volatility, shocks and sudden events.

While all of us are hoping for some relief after what has been arguably the worst year in stock market history, the relief may be short-lived.

Winter Solstice, December 21, 2008 12:04 UT (Universal Time) - The Sun is at it's most southerly declination, marking this as the shortest day of the year in the Northern hemisphere. In the Southern Hemisphere this marks the longest day, and shortest night of the year.

Predictions derived from the Winter Solstice chart from the point of view of the general economy will apply to the next three months until the Spring Equinox. The horoscope is for Washington D.C. ... The overall outlook is there will be a lot of very bright, highly skilled people out of work. Before the Spring Equinox they will start putting their ideas, resumes and energy to work and find exciting new ventures that promise to keep them busy through 2009.  Nothing will be the same as the new economy begins to take hold...Mars conjunct Pluto on December 28, 2008; Saturn turns retrograde on December 31; Jupiter changes signs from Capricorn to Aquarius on January 5.

In an article I wrote in February of 2008, titled The Mythical Recession, I said: "The whole recession scenario started with Jupiter conjunct Pluto on December 10th, 2007 then Jupiter moved into Capricorn on the same day as Saturn turned retrograde December 20th. As explained in The Textbook for Financial Astrology, Jupiter changing signs is difficult for markets."

Saturn retrograde keeps the accounting department in their offices and Pluto insists on destroying then rebuilding everything ruled by the sign he occupies...The Rule of Three is common to every aspect of our lives.

January 5, 2009 Jupiter enters Aquarius. The Twelfth Day of Christmas and all the religious groups have celebrated the holidays. We open our eyes to find Jupiter in Aquarius.

Jupiter aligns with Mars during the 2009 Transit. Remember the song "Let the Sun Shine In" with the lyrics "This is the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius" … When the moon is in the seventh house and Jupiter aligns with Mars" ?OK, everyday the Moon is in the seventh house for about two hours in every place in the world...

Pluto gave us a preview of what is going to happen when he took a brief sojourn in to Capricorn January 27, 2008-June 14, 2008.  However, using Heliocentric Astrology*, Pluto remained in the sign Capricorn and added to the confusion in the market place.  (*explanation of Heliocentric Astrology at the end of the article)Pluto entered Capricorn November 28, 2008 and is there to stay until January 24, 2024.

Astrologers will speculate on the Saturn Uranus Opposition for the next 18 months.

Both planets will move back (retrograde) and forth (direct) within 10 degrees of each other. The exact date is not as important as the months leading to the exact date of the opposition or the applying aspect. The trends are set in motion during the time before the exact date of each opposition.

The Fall Equinox occurs September 22, at 11:44 am, EDT Washington D.C.

Over View of the final quarter of 2008 - Predictions:  Remember that the Earth moves in an elliptical orbit, and therefore nothing moves in a straight line.  Every number can curve back to the place where it started, including the Dow average. Therefore, check the number of the Dow on December 21, 2007, add the normal 4% annual increase and you will be pretty close to what will be the ending average.

The Dow and S&P 500 stocks will continue to be under stress...

Saturn will transit Virgo from September 3, 2007 until July 22, 2010.  The last two previous transits of Saturn through Virgo were July 27, 1978 - September 22, 1980, and May 30, 1949 - August 15, 1951. (Saturn transits a sign every 30 years, spending approximately 2 1/2 years in each sign)

While I was researching Bear Sterns I looked at Goldman Sachs' chart, and as I was typing along, Abby Joseph Cohen came on CNBC today (March 20, 2008). Experience suggests that a company will send out a top girl followed in a few weeks by the CEO to reassure the investing public. Is this a corporate Red Flag?

So I revisited the charts...

Spring Equinox (an overview of the three months ahead) The Spring Equinox occurs on March 20 2008 at 1:49 am EDT. The chart is set for Washington D.C. There will be a Super New Moon May 5 and June 3, therefore, earthquakes can be very destructive especially along the USA West Coast. Saturn turns direct May 3 and Jupiter turns retrograde May 9. The accounting department will send the salesmen on vacation. Mercury retrograde begins May 26 and ends June 18, if you buy something that costs more than $10 expect it will self destruct.

First let's describe the reality from the astrology point of view. The whole recession scenario started with Jupiter conjunct Pluto on December 10th, 2007 then Jupiter moved into Capricorn on the same day as Saturn turned retrograde December 20th. As explained in The Textbook for Financial Astrology there are some 20 aphorisms in financial astrology and Jupiter changing signs is one...

On Monday, January 21, 2008 at 4:14 am EST, we get the first of the three Jupiter trine Saturn aspects occurring between the Earth signs, Capricorn and Virgo.  I dealt with the symbolism of this at some length last week, because of the eons-old link of these two planets in accurately depicting business cycles.

The Winter Solstice

Jupiter will transit Capricorn from December 19, 2007-January 7, 2009 his previous transits of Capricorn were January 1996-1997 and January 1984 - February 1985, and September 1972-February 1973. Jupiter expands the things ruled by the sign that it transits. All of this is fine until you think about it. An abundant supply means that the price will be less. Example: Apples during harvest season are cheaper than they are six months later....

The dollar has made headlines since October 1, 2007. Its value relative to the Euro and the Yen has decreased steadily.  Even the Chinese have suggested that they might reconsider pegging their currency, Yuan, to the value of the dollar...

"Mercury Rx October 12 - November 1. Mercury goes retrograde three times a year. This is often enough to establish an aphorism or two...

I am having trouble grasping why certain planetary aspects are used over others that occur close together as to which of those should influence a market or change its direction of trend. Dear Markay, Question on Mercury Rx. Kaye says and I have noticed that during this period the markets are volatile I have also noticed a Bradley turn seems to pop up during these periods as well. Monday is a holiday. If price on the DOW is to come within 1 percent of when Mercury goes Rx what price is more accurate? Fridays close? or Tuesday open? I am thinking Tuesdays open. Or might you check the ES price ? Thanks for any info you can provide on this for me.  Rick

Dear Markay,
I bought your course from the internet recently. I have skimmed the material and I was very surprised to see that you were using jupiter to natal transits to both the IPO and incorporation dates. Alphee Lavoie states that Incorporation dates don't work. Bill Meridian uses IPO dates and has published a whole book on IPO dates. I also use the IPO dates via a proprietary model. The point I'm trying to make is, you can't have 2 birthdates for a stock, just like you can't have 2 birthdates for a person. Doing this breaks on of the basic rules of astrology. So why are you using both dates? Jbadura
